Printing from RDP 7 ( Win 2003 / 2008, Win7 / XP ) with ENSON?
Option 1 : Printer Connected to Server or Network Printer
Setting up Server :
- Attach the printer with the server.
- Install Driver ( Say “HP LaserJet 4LC” )
- Share the printer with Network.
As you connect through RDP and work in your applications the printer will be visible during Printing. Simply Select the printer and enjoy printing.
Option 2 : Printer Connected Locally on ENSON (Supported in 3100/3300 models only)
Note : All printers whose drivers are supported on Server will work.
Setting Up Server :
- Go to Control Panel / Device & Printers / Add Printer ( Alternately if you install the printer drive you can see the printer over here).
- Install the Printer Driver(say “Xerox Phaser 3140 and 3155 #5”)
- Note Down the Printer Name Carefully ( Exact Spelling as shown on Server ).
Setting up Enson :
- Connected the Printer on ENSON on any of the available USB Port and keep it POWERED ON.
- Set up the RDP printer redirection
1. Go to Connection Manager/Add/Printer
2. Give a name (say “RDP-Pr”)
3. Local Port is automatically taken based on where you have connected the printer.
4. After that check to “User Defined” and write the printer driver name on the corresponding server.(Ensure that the Printer name is correctly given).
5. Alternately of your printer is shown in Printer Drive List you can direct select the Manufacturer & Driver.
Checking if it is Setup Correctly or Not :
- Start RDP session on ENSON device.
- Go to Control Panel/.../Device and Printers
- You should see “RDP-Pr redirected” with a Green Tick indicating it as your default printer.
As you connect through RDP and work in your applications the printer RDP Pr will be visible during Printing. Simply Select the printer and enjoy printing.
Note : It shall be visible only to the users logging in from this particular ENSON device and not to users of other machine.
